Sziasztok!
Because of a very useful suggestion from Timi, I put my movie reviews in 6 categories by their rating. Now you can more easily search for the best movies, if you are looking for recommendation
BTW, I still need you to give me some clicks at my poll, because starting from Monday I will have vacation, and I’ll convert my blog back to Hungarian if the stats stay as they are now. Which is not a bad thing, don’t get me wrong…
Thanx once more!

Trailer:
Plot: Larry find himself a new job, night guard at a museum. But what happens when by night everything in the museum comes to life?
Chit~Chat: I really liked the idea, but the realization could have been better. I don’t know, maybe it was a good thing that I had expectations, but there could be so much more… The story line was a little skinny… Beside the main story line everything was just put there to make it more colorful, but I don’t think it worked. The ex wife, the treachery of the night guards, the new girlfriend, and the almost lost son were all just a little crappy. I specially disliked the little boy… he was always smiling, though he should have been sad or confused or something like this.
What I really liked were the little characters played by great actors. Here I’m thinking about Teddy (played by Robbie Williams), Octavius (played by Steve Coogan), Ahkmenrah (played by Rami Malek) and Jedediah (played by Owen Wilson). These little characters were exciting and well built. I think this part of the plot should have been more interesting to expand, not the life of Larry…

Trailer:
Plot: A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members. When they got together.
Chit~Chat: When I saw the first trailer of this movie I got very anxious, but through time I totally forgot about the film. I like these kind of films, stories, space adventures. I’m fan of the Star Wars series and i watched the Andromeda and Stargate too. The only thing I could recall about the world of Star Trek was the “beaming”, which by the way was very well made.
Firstly the main brick of the plot is very exciting, the time and space traveling, especially the time traveling. Because I didn’t know the world of Star Trek I can’t enjoy the jump back to the past as much as a fan could, but still… Anyhow i got such a great feeling from the movie, that right after the film I started to search for some space games…
The presentation of the characters, their construction and growing is so well made that at the end you really feel that you are part of a group, of the crew of the USS Enterprise. The characters are starting each with a little characteristic {like the accent of Chekov}, but throughout the film they get a whole form. I liked the way Kirks character was built up, for me it wasn’t the usual little-nasty-but-good-hero kind of character presentation. I think this paragraph depicts the quality of the acting.
The visual effects of the movie were great. I liked that they hold light into the camera many times, making this kind of beam effect. The spaceship was beautiful as were the surroundings.
This was the best adventure movie I’ve seen lately.
AcademyAwards: Nominations? We’ll see tomorrow…
I had some doubts about the rating system I’m using, so I changed it a bit. Here is the presentation of the new rating levels. Two bad categories and five good ones.
{the worst category}
It somehow went in a (very) wrong way.
{not the worst, but still bad}
Hmm… you can watch it one time…
{when it’s something ordinary}
{Good}
{the best categories}
Wow, this was amazing… Over and over!
{when the film is soo good, that it’s worth watching many times}
!Must-See-Movie!
{this is the category for those film which had big effects on my life or my way of thinking, seeing things}
Hope it’s not too complicated. Sometimes I overcomplicate everything…
Director: Sam Mendes
Writer: Alan Ball
Music: Thomas Newman
Premier: 8 September 1999
Length: 122 minutes
Cast:
Kevin Spacey … Lester Burnham
Annette Bening … Carolyn Burnham
Thora Birch … Jane Burnham
Wes Bentley … Ricky Fitts
Mena Suvari … Angela Hayes
Chris Cooper … Col. Frank Fitts, USMC
Trailer:
Plot: When Lester meets the classmate of her daughter, he realizes that he hasn’t been living since a long time, and he starts to change things around his life.
Chit~Chat: It’s a drama, but i’ts a drama two the power two. As you will see at the end of the post, this film was highly appreciated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, and not for nothing. I’m once more at the point when the movie is so good that I have nothing to say about it.
At the beginning it starts as a usual american life portraying movie, but when Lester eavesdrops on his daughter and her classmate the movie takes such a big turn that you have to grab something not to fall out of your seat. Their “perfect” life starts to fall apart and drastically. The three story lines, of the three family members are well designed and all three get the same amount of attention. And when these story lines collide, the brilliance of this film sparkles.
The movie has many turns in his plot and the ending makes this film a masterpiece.
AcademyAwards: In the year of 2000 this movie took the award for the best picture of the year! Beside this it was awarded the prize for best directing, best screenplay, best cinematography, and best actor in leading role: Kevin Spacey. It was also nominated in the category of best editing, best score and best actress in leading role: Annette Bening.
Rating:
Wow, this was amazing… (and in a way a “must see” too)
Director: Rob Bowman
Writer: Mark Steven Johnson and Frank Miller
Music: Christophe Beck
Premier: 8 January 2005
Length: 96 minutes
Cast:
Jennifer Garner … Elektra
Goran Visnjic … Mark Miller
Kirsten Prout … Abby Miller
Will Yun Lee … Kirigi
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa … Roshi
Terence Stamp … Stick
Trailer:
Plot: An ancient warrior stands between Good and Evil, but these two want to get her for them selves.
Chit~Chat: As far as I can remember I always loved the comics of Marvel. More precisely the stories, because I haven’t read one Marvel comic in my life. I think the X-Men were my number one on the top list. Their way of making heroes with supernatural power inspired me. Elektra was the only one which I have never seen on the internet or in cartoons or anywhere. But when I heard about the movie I wanted to see it. Time passed and I forgot, but on monday I stumbled upon it and couldn’t let her stay unwatched anymore.
The character of Elektra is so very well played by Jennifer Garner that it actually carries the whole movie on her back. She is mysterious but direct, stone hard but kind. The other character (beside of Stick) are not such a big thing, but I think that in such a short time, so many characters cannot unfold.
The story isn’t too complicated, I would have liked a little more turns in it, but as an action movie, it’s great. The battles are beautiful and the evil side is almost as powerful as the good side. I don’t like it when in a movie one side is dominating, because then the victory of the other side is possible just with a “deus ex machina”.
Liked the outfit and the wind effects (although sometimes I would have liked to see more of her face, than her hair).
